Creating a culture where people can belong even before they believe. Some of the earliest believers were known as the Parabalani or “reckless ones” for their willingness to love on, reach out to and embrace those often on the outskirts of society. So at Radiant we always want to be a community that goes out of it’s way to let “Grace Win” in everything we do.
"…God’s kindness leads to repentance." Romans 2:4
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Radiant Church is a place for people on every part of the spiritual journey, a place where you can belong even before you believe. It is a safe place for everyone. But safe doesn’t always mean comfortable. The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change. We expect every person to be moving closer to seeing Christ fully formed in their lives. We also believe everyone has a next step…whether that be to serve, join a Life Group, or Growth Track.
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God continually transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.” Romans 12:2
“You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God’s likeness—righteous, holy and true.” Ephesians 4:24
At some point, church became known as a place where people must “fake” their way through life. However, we value creating an environment where you can be real about where you are in life. We aren’t interested in being a church where a lot of people get together for an inspiring service but never move beyond casual relationships.
“We loved you so much that we gave you not only God’s good news, but our very lives as well.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
“So put away all falsehood and tell your neighbor the truth, because we belong to each other.” Ephesians 4:25
We believe the Bible is God’s roadmap for life. Therefore, we value communicating the timeless truth of Scripture in cutting-edge, culturally relevant & practical ways.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:7-8
We believe at Radiant that everyone is a perfect 10 at something. And as a result everyone has a part to play for the church to be the church. As the Bible compares the church to the body of Christ with each person playing a vital, yet different, part. When we're functioning as the body, we are in effect the closest thing to Christ that a watching world will see until his return.
“He is the one who gave these gifts to us to be apostles, prophets, evangelists and pastors and teachers, to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things that he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10
We always want to be a community of believers that’s not afraid to “punch above our weight.” The Bible calls as believers to come before Him with boldness, and to not be afraid to ask big, dream big, and believe for God-size answers.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20
We are learning that the Christian life is not about “us.” We have been given life to exalt Jesus as our supreme treasure, and we show that value by what we are willing to risk or sacrifice to have more of Him.
“No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. Selling their possessions and goods they gave to anyone as they had need.” Acts 4:32
"All the believers were of one heart and mind." Acts 2:44
We don’t believe church has to be boring or a going through the motions of religion. Rather we believe it’s a joy to use our gifts serving God and others. Therefore, we value laughter, a spirit of celebration, and having fun as we lead and serve together.
“the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
We always want to create environments and atmospheres that are welcoming to anyone & everyone, no matter where they’re at in life. And creating a community that naturally looks to “invest & invite” when it comes to those around them.
Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:13
